Faith That Moves

Trust God and Do the Work

Looking back on my life, I can say that I've always trusted that God would make a way. My faith has never been about sitting still and waiting for blessings to appear. I believed that prayer opened the door, faith kept me moving, and hard work positioned me to receive what God had prepared for me. Through every challenge, I trusted Him, put my head down, did the work, and watched Him faithfully direct my path.

One of the biggest misconceptions about faith is that all we have to do is pray and wait. While prayer is powerful and absolutely essential, God also calls us to be obedient, diligent, and willing to act. Faith isn't an excuse to remain comfortable it is the confidence to move forward, trusting that God is ordering our steps even when we can't see the entire path.

The Bible reminds us in James 2:17 (NIV)

"In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."

That Scripture isn't telling us that we earn God's blessings through our works. Rather, it teaches us that genuine faith produces action. When we truly trust God, we move. We prepare. We persevere. We keep going even when the outcome hasn't yet been revealed.

If you're praying for a new job, submit the applications. If you're praying for financial freedom, create a budget and steward what God has already given you.

If you're praying for healing, seek God while also taking care of the body He entrusted to you. If you're praying for a stronger relationship with Him, spend time in His Word and in prayer.

Faith doesn't eliminate responsibility it strengthens our resolve to fulfill it.

When I reflect on my own journey, I don't remember sitting around wondering if God would come through. I remember praying with expectation and then getting to work. I remember the long days, the sacrifices, the disappointments, and the moments when I had to encourage myself because quitting would have been easier.

There were prayers prayed through tears. There were doors that closed. There were opportunities that didn't work out the way I hoped.

But there was never a moment when God stopped being faithful.

Each setback became preparation

Each delay strengthened my character

Each obstacle taught me to depend on God even more

Instead of worrying about who was ahead of me or comparing my life to someone else's, I focused on what I could control. I asked God to give me wisdom, to guide my decisions, and to show me where I needed to grow. Then I put in the work.

That mindset changed everything. God has blessed me, elevated me, and opened doors that no person could have opened not because I was the smartest person in the room, but because I trusted Him enough to keep moving when others would have stopped.

Throughout every season, I stood on His promises. "‘For I know the plans I have for you’, declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’" Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

Even when my circumstances didn't make sense, I believed God's plans were greater than what I could see. His promises gave me hope, but my faith compelled me to keep taking the next step.

I also found comfort in these words "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5–6 (NIV)

Trusting God has never meant having all the answers. It has meant believing that even when I couldn't see the destination, He could. My responsibility was simply to remain faithful, obedient, and willing to do the work He placed before me.

Today, I can say with a heart full of gratitude that God has never failed me.

He has carried me through every difficult season, opened doors I never imagined possible, and reminded me time and time again that faith and hard work are never wasted. Every lesson, every sacrifice, every late night, every tear, and every prayer became part of the testimony He was writing.

As I continue this journey, my commitment remains the same.

I will pray without ceasing

I will trust God completely

I will work with excellence

I will persevere through every challenge

And I will give God all the glory for every blessing that follows. Because I've learned that faith isn't just believing God can it is trusting Him enough to keep moving until His promises become reality.

Faith isn't waiting for God to move while we stand still. Faith is walking in obedience, trusting that every step we take in His will is a step He has already prepared.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being faithful in every season of my life. Thank You for reminding me that faith is more than believing it is living each day with confidence that You are guiding my steps.

Lord, strengthen us to be people of action. Help us to pray with expectation, trust without wavering, and work with excellence. Give us the courage to move even when the path is uncertain, knowing that You have already gone before us.

When we become discouraged, remind us that every step of obedience matters. Keep us from comparing our journey to others, and instead help us focus on becoming who You have called us to be. Teach us to be faithful stewards of every opportunity You place before us.

Thank You for every door You have opened, every lesson You have taught, and every blessing You have poured into our lives. May our faith always be visible through our actions, our perseverance, and our commitment to honor You in all that we do.

We stand on Your promises, trusting that the plans You have for us are good. As we continue to pray, work, and trust You, may our lives become a testimony that inspires others to believe that with You, all things are possible.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray and declare. Amen!
